Product Information

Asymmetrics, gennakers and cruising chutes have a tack line that runs to the stem, generally through a swivel block, so that it can be led aft for control at the cockpit. The block, however, must be attached somewhat forward of the forestay to clear the foresail reefing mechanism. On many monohulls, there is no such attachment point, so installing a bowsprit may be the only solution.

At Ocean Chandlery, we have designed an incredibly robust, removable bowsprit in polished 316 stainless steel that will work for most monohulls, the tack attachment being some 350cm forward of the stem, clearing the reefing drum and pulpit. No bobstay is required.

It is supplied with a stainless steel bracket that fixes to the side of the bow roller and a base plate for securing the bowsprit to the foredeck.
