Blue Performance deck hatch covers are essential to protect your hatch lid from ultra-violet, which can severely weaken the acrylic through "crazing". It also darkens the cabin as the cover acts as a blind shutting out much of the light on bright summer evenings and moonlit nights (the kids get to sleep quicker!).

I bought one as I was not totally sure of the quality from the picture. It turned out it has been an excellent choice and I am going to buy another one for the second hatch.

These hatch covers are excellent - they fit standard Lewmar hatches perfectly. They are made of good-quality materials which means that in addition they keep out a decent amount of light at night for sleeping better (although they aren't a total blackout).

Product Information

Hatch covers are also available with a mosquito net, housed in a pouch on top. The net is weighted along the bottom edge to hold it in place when dropped over the open hatch lid keeping out pesky mosquitos and midges.
